© 2019 Rosary For Life And Faith

40 Days of Reparation for Life and Faith

May 29, 2018

Wednesday May 30th to Sunday July 8th

Last week, by a vote of the people, much of the island of Ireland chose to legalise the deliberate destruction of babies before birth. It has just been announced that the government hopes to fasttrack this destruction by passing a law before the summer recess, which is scheduled to begin on July 13th, the anniversary of the Fatima apparition in which Our Lady most strongly called for reparation. Determined attempts are being made to impose this same horror on the North of Ireland.  Many have asked how we came to this this situation and what we can do about it. Fortunately we have been given clear instructions. Instruction that we must urgently carry out.

Our Lady in Fatima told us the way to end war on Life, Marriage and Family and obtain peace.  She asked for conversion and reparation, devotion to her Immaculate Heart and the daily rosary.  In the last year, Ireland has been consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and many rosaries have been prayed, while continuing these we focus on her call to conversion and reparation, for our sins and the sins of Ireland.

Reparation is the act of making amends for the wrong someone has done.  To understand it, think of ourselves. If we have fallen out of grace with God, we have to go to confession with a contrite heart so that we can make our peace with God, so that He can again begin to flood our souls with His grace, and we can receive that grace.  The same is true for a country. We, as a people, have to come before God and ask for His mercy and forgiveness, so He can shower us with His grace and we can receive it. When we fail to do this there is a blockage.  This is one of the problems currently in Ireland.

Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI sent a letter in 2010 to the Irish on the Feast of St Joseph, Patron and Protector of the Church. In it he gives clear and specific direction on how we can respond to Our Blessed Mother’s call to conversion and reparation and in doing so heal and bring peace to our island.

I ask you to offer up your fasting, your prayer, your reading of Scripture and your works of mercy in order to obtain the grace of healing and renewal for the Church in Ireland. I encourage you to discover anew the sacrament of Reconciliation and to avail yourselves more frequently of the transforming power of its grace. Particular attention should also be given to Eucharistic adoration, and in every diocese there should be churches or chapels specifically devoted to this purpose. I ask parishes, seminaries, religious houses and monasteries to organise periods of Eucharistic adoration, so that all have an opportunity to take part. Through intense prayer before the real presence of the Lord, you can make reparation for the sins {of abuse} that have done so much harm, at the same time imploring the grace of renewed strength and a deeper sense of mission on the part of all bishops, priests, religious and lay faithful. I am confident that this programme will lead to a rebirth of the Church in Ireland in the fullness of God’s own truth, for it is the truth that sets us free”(Pope Benedict XVI’s Pastoral Letter to the Catholics of Ireland, n.14)

With the destination set by Our Lady and the map supplied by Pope Benedict we urge you to join in 40 Days of Reparation for Life and Faith  culminating in 40 Hours of Eucharistic Adoration in Knock (and elsewhere) closing with an All Ireland Act of Reparation for Life and Faith on Fatima Sunday in Knock Shrine Basilica.

Join us so that while our politicians seek the destruction of Irish babies in Leinster House and Westminster we will seek their protection in the Most Holy Eucharist, the source of all power.

  • Fasting-on Fridays (water, bread and water or whatever type of fasting you can do) and as the legislative process unfolds fast on days that are of particular threat to the unborn children e.g. days when there are votes. • Study-Read and reflect on the weekly readings (and discuss where possible) which are listed in the schedule below.

  • Wear the scapular-put on Our Lady’s uniform

  • Make a visible sign- when praying the Angelus (6am, noon and 6pm) bow, strike your breast or genuflect at the words “And the word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us” Similarly make a visible sign when praying “And was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary and was made Man” in the Nicene Creed and at the words “Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit” in the Apostles Creed. These solemn words mark the Incarnation, the moment that Jesus became a pre-birth baby.
